Griffin Wood
Blogspot
A blog providing the latest news on Griffin Wood, the woodland (located near Maypole Wood by the Clock Face Country Park) which is being created by Community Forests Northwest and the Mersey Forest. There's a regularly updated web log of activities and events, complete with photos. Plus you can download press reports and study the design plans. You can also learn how to dedicate a tree in Griffin Wood which makes for a rather unusual gift! Very nice site.

George R.

My other web site about George Groves. George was born and bred in St.Helens and rose to become the film industry's first ever 'sound man' when he recorded The Jazz Singer and many other early sound films. He rose to become Director of Sound at Warner Brothers and won an Oscar for his work on My Fair Lady, Yankee Doodle Dandy and Sayonara.
