Where Is Sutton Manor Woodland in St.Helens?
Although Forestry Commission signs refer to the site as Sutton Manor Woodland (or Sutton Manor Wood), it is often simply referred to as 'Sutton Manor'. It's located in the south of Sutton on the site of the old Sutton Manor Colliery and is sandwiched between Jubits Lane, Gartons Lane, Clock Face Road and the M62. The main access points are by the old NCB gates and by the M62 road bridge near the Smithy Manor pub - both in Jubits Lane - and in Clock Face Road, directly opposite the Clock Face Country Park.
The no. 32A bus from St.Helens town centre stops in Clock Face Road and nos. 33 and 33A (Sutton Manor) stop in Jubits Lane. Car parking - for a limited time - is permissible outside the entrances in Jubits Lane.
